Dr. Reid has always said that “the knee is the dumbest joint in the body.” What he means by this is that the only function the knee is supposed to perform is flexion and extension. Straight forwards and backwards. When the knee is forced to do an action that isn’t flexion/extension (such as rotation or lateral movement) it causes injury to the knee. Typically, if the knee must do these aberrant movements, it is because the hip or the ankle isn’t doing their jobs. Thus, it is very crucial to go through a proper assessment of WHY someone is experiencing knee pain and get to the root cause of it with our treatment as we mitigate and alleviate the pain.
Major injuries to the knee, like an ACL tear or Meniscus tear, can benefit greatly from Chiropractic Care at Minnesota Movement after the individual has gone through their required Post-Op Physical Therapy. Our doctors are skilled and educated in continuing rehabilitation exercises for preventing further knee injury in the future but also building performance within that joint so that you may return to your sport faster and stronger!
