Can Chiropractic Care help with Shoulder Pain?

Our chiropractors have an immense amount of experience with shoulder pain and injuries. Dr. Reid has worked with many high level athletes ranging from World Games volleyball players, PGA Tour golfers, professional Hockey Players, Professional Rock Climbers, and even high level swimmers and CrossFit athletes. All of this experience has exposed Dr. Reid to numerous athletes with various shoulder conditions. This experience with athletes who consistently perform over-head movements can be applied to other athletes such as weight lifters, cyclists, and football players. Our sports chiropractic techniques are equally well suited if your shoulder pain is from overuse at work, sitting at a desk, being a weekend warrior work or from an unknown cause.

Ask the Doctors at Minnesota Movement and they will tell you that the shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the body. It is surrounded by nerves, tendons, bursa and other tissues which can all be easily irritated and cause pain. Tendons help attach muscle to bone while ligaments attach bone to bone. Four tendons make up the rotator cuff: supraspinatous, infraspinatous, subscapularis and teres minor. All of these originate from the back near the shoulder blade and attach to make a cuff or circle around the shoulder. The cuff and joint are further strengthened by cartilage, called a labrum, and ligaments.

What chiropractic treatments work for shoulder pain?
